Unter dem Titel GRAT organisierten Sofi Naufal und Yael Mor als Teil ihrer super soft residency at soft power. GRAT (“Guided Readings and Angry Tales”) is an event series that brings together practicing performers, writers and musicians in a community for experimentation. After having hosted a workshop with members of the GRAT community during their week-long residency at soft power Yael Mor and Sofi Naufal (with Ajuk Raym and Marta Talvet) performed alongside Andy Aquarius (sonic alchemist, multi-instrumentalist (Celtic harp and voice)), framed by a presentation of artistic results from this collaborative working process. At the heart of GRAT lies an understanding that when artists feel safe to take risks, transformative things can happen. Organised by Yael Mor (actress and writer) and Sofi Naufal (musician and writer), the events are held in intimate rooms around the city that allow artists and audience members to gather in extended moments of vulnerability.
The super soft residency is a format, in which soft power regularly welcomes artists, musicians or performers to take over our space for a period of time to pursue, rehearse, explore their current research, projects and ideas. The event was part of the first SELLERIE WEEKEND, which presented the off-program of 50 independent art spaces and took place in the same period as the Gallery Weekend from 28.4.–30.4.2023 in Berlin.
