Feedback is a transdisciplinary event series and publication project hosted by TABLOID Press and soft power, spanning from April to December 2025. At each event, one writer, one musician, and one visual artist were invited to perform under the impetus of the literary, the poetic, the textual – to speak where their mutual reverb begins, to share language and resonance in a space of reflexivity.

Thinking of publishing as a gathering and “making public,” Feedback pays homage to textual influence, to the conversation between material and immaterial practices, to the work of writers and to the labour of writing itself – as it reflects and refracts beyond the boundaries of artistic disciplines and media.
The mutually reflexive relationship between live performance and published media is a consistent principle in the work of TABLOID Press – accordingly, each of the five bimonthly Feedback events at soft power are accompanied by a limited-edition publication collecting works of the invited artists.

mit Liola Mattheis, Lyra Pramuk & The Neighbourhood Character

hosted by anorak (Gottlieb-Dunkel-Str. 43/44, 12099 Berlin)

Liola Mattheis is a poet and theorist based in Berlin. In both her academic and literary work, she engages with natural history, accumulation, and sexuality. Her poetic practice playfully leans on formalist approaches and is driven by abstraction.

Lyra Pramuk is a Berlin-based, American multidisciplinary artist. Compelled by collectivity, spirituality, consciousness and care, she has conceived a unique form of devotional music. Exploring the ecstatic genesis of sacred ritual practices, Lyra draws from folk, house, techno, gospel and her formal classical education, working alongside the Sonar Quartett string ensemble to construct a symphony of the universe that coaxes listeners across dividing lines and towards mutual liberation. This same philosophy underpins pop.soil, her forward-thinking experimental hub and label, that deviates from the mainstream by prioritizing growth, cultivation and the exchange of ideas through physical and digital releases, online content, workshops, performances, and a bi-monthly cross-genre radio show on NTS.

The Neighbourhood Character is a DJ, cultural writer, and strategist moving quietly between worlds. They bring a thoughtful, grounded perspective to their practice, navigating the intersections of creative expression and everyday life. Lately, their work has been deeply intertwined with the demands of living and growth, focusing on the essentials of finding meaning beyond music and art. They currently lead communications at Weaving Liberation, an organization dedicated to supporting and resourcing digital justice in Europe.

anorak is a Berlin-based curatorial collective and independent art space with a focus on artists’ moving image, performance, and sound.

mit Alice Z Jones, Basyma Saad & Tomaso De Luca

Alice Z Jones is a British-Jamaican artist from London. She draws from both a European tradition and the traditions of Black and Caribbean Diasporas – negotiating lost histories, imposed histories, institutional invisibility, identities and mis/representation. Her works cross mark-making, craft, installation and sound; focusing on the exploration, creation and recreation of languages of resistance and transformation.

Basyma Saad is an artist and writer born in Beirut. She is currently working on a collection of poetry and prose.

Tomaso De Luca is a visual artist based in Berlin. His work – articulated through drawing, sculpture, installation, and video – unfolds as a set of perverse and improbable strategies that seek to imagine a “way out” from the increasingly violent consequences of modernity: gentrification, oppression, isolation, and exploitation.

Maryama Luccioni, known by her stage name Maryisonacid, is a French-Congolese DJ, promoter, curator, and the founder of the African Acid Is The Future label and party based in Berlin.

TABLOID Press – founded by the poets Nadia Marcus and Zo Darsee – began in the spring of 2014 in Berlin. The inaugural newspaper featured a collaboration between the founders and photographer George Nebieridze: the press’ focus has always been the dialogic process and principles of mutual influence – between writers and readers, between the visual and the textual, between dancer and DJ, between lover and beloved and so on. It is this collaborative ethic of reciprocity that created the foundation for a publishing practice. After more than a decade of activity, TABLOID is now honoured to bring together a few of the artists, writers and musicians who have shaped the press, its artistic community and Marcus and Darsee’s thinking over the years.
